William the Conqueror, British Conqueror from Normandy
Prince William of Normandy
came to England with a few thousand across the strait that separates mainland
Europe and from countries with determination so David Bekham ruler of England
and conquered it.
Falaise was born in a town in Normandy, France in 1027. He was the only son
of Robert I of Normandy. Robert
died in 1035 when on his way home on a pilgrimage to Darussalam. Before
his departure he has appointed William as his heir. So,
at the age of eight years, has become the Prince William of Normandy.
Year 1042, when Williarn middle age dozen a year, he was appointed military
officers honor. After
that he had a personal role in political events. Break
then a series of battles against the feudal barons of Normandy, which in turn
can be won William, who cemented his position. In
1603 he conquered Maine, neighboring provinces and in the year 1064 he also
managed to be recognized as the ruler of Brittany and a few other provinces
that is nearby.
Being British authorities
King Edward of England who ruled from 1042 until the year 1066 did not
berputera none. William wants to
be a substitute of king Edward. From
the point of blood ties, demands replaces William Edward is weak. Her
blood relationship with the King Edward is only through the mother king Edward.
Edward's
mother is the sister of William's grandfather. However,
in the year 1051, perhaps influenced by the way William showed that he had the
ability, Edward William promises to be his successor.
When Edward died in 1066, Harold Goldwin as the law of Edward demanded the
crown of the British Empire for himself and an entity whose name
"Witan" (body, composed of nobles who commonly take part in decision
making anyone who became holders of the royal crown) select so a new king. William
was tek received with rapture, and he took the decision to invade England to
seize the throne by force of arms.
The attack on England
In early August 1066, William, who has brought together a fleet and armed
forces on the French coast leaving for England. However,
the expedition was delayed a few weeks, waiting for the wind subsiding badly
from the north. Meanwhile,
Norway's King Harald Hardraade launched separate attacks on Britain across the
North Sea. Harold
Goldwin alerted its forces in the south of England, William ready for the
attack. Thus
he had to deploy troops to the north of England to counter attack the people of
Norway. On
September 25, at the battle of Stamford Bridge king of Norway was killed and
his army was falling apart.
Only two days later the wind changed in the Strait Channel and William rushed to deploy troops to England. Harold was hastily moving troops back south to face William. Both the armed forces met on December 4, 1066 in a famous battle at Hastings. King Harold himself was killed in the fighting. Eventually William was crowned king of England in London on Christmas day.

After five years, broke a couple of rebellion, but William could get rid of
it. William
used the pretext of this rebellion for reasons confiscate all land in England
and declared that all land was owned privately. Many
of the lands were then distributed to followers Norwegianya people who control
the land in feudal conditions as vassalnya. As
a result, the entire Anglo-Saxon aristocracy stripped away, replaced by the
Norwegians.
William was married and had four sons and five daughters. He died in 1087
in the town of Rouen, northern France. Since
then every king in the UK is a direct offspring. Curiously,
although William the Conqueror was probably the most important king of England,
he himself was not English, but French. He
was born in France and lid life in France, spent most of his life there and
could only speak French. (He happened to be
illiterate).
In terms of measuring the significance of the influence of William in
history one thing must be remembered is just Williamlah the Norman conquest
over England. William
is not a substitute for proper crown of the British Empire. If
only he furthest from personal ambition and ability, there would be no need for
historical reasons the Norman raids. England
never get the invasion of France since the Roman conquest 1000 years earlier. There
was never successful conquest of France (or wherever) for nine centuries except
by William the Conqueror.
